The Turner Prize is widely recognised as one of the most important and prestigious awards for the visual arts in Europe. Billed as the definitive Turner Prize exhibition, the retrospective featured works by all the winning artists since it began in 1984 presenting a snapshot of British art from the previous 24 years.

We were appointed to realise the graphic design and signage for the exhibition. Our final solution used bespoke aluminium extrusions into which information panels could be inserted. Each panel had detailed information about a shortlisted artist of which there were over 100 in total. We worked closely with the curators to expand this idea to create a graphic overview of the Turner Prize in its entirety for the exhibition's entrance. It placed British, global and cultural news alongside posters, newspapers and assorted ephemera from each year relating specifically to the Turner Prize. This content was then edited for a broadsheet gallery guide that we suggested for a format as a material reference to the printed media that is often the main platform for discussion around the prize.
